Standard Applicability:This standard specifies the 0.1 ml counting frame-microscope counting method for the determination of phytoplankton in water. This standard applies to the density determination of phytoplankton in surface water. When the sample is concentrated 50 times, the detection limit of diagonal counting method is 9.2×103 cells/L; the detection limit of row grid counting method is 3.0×103 cells/L; the detection limit of whole slice counting method is 9.2×102 cells/L; the detection limit of randomized field of view counting method is related to the number of fields of view and the area of the field of view of the microscope, and it is calculated in accordance with Appendix A.
