Standard Applicability:This standard defines the verification and validation processes applied to systems, software and hardware throughout their life cycle, including acquisition, supply, development, operation, maintenance and disposal. This standard applies to V&V work on instrumentation and control systems and electrical systems in nuclear power plants. Users of this standard may implement certain life cycle processes and associated verification and validation processes depending on the project. The description of system life cycle processes can be referred to ISO/IEC 15288:2008 and the description of software life cycle processes can be referred to ISO/IEC 12207:2008.
