Standard Applicability:This standard specifies the design guidelines for the fuel system and its components for emergency diesel generator sets of pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants, including the function of the system, system classification, process design requirements, equipment design requirements, test requirements, inspection and maintenance requirements. This standard applies to the design of all mechanical equipment, electrical instrumentation and control equipment from the main fuel storage tank to the interface between the fuel system and the diesel generator (including the interface), but does not include equipment directly mounted on the diesel generator body. Non-safety class diesel generator fuel system and other stack type diesel generator fuel system design can also refer to the use of this standard.
