Standard Applicability:This standard applies to basin insulators, including pressurized and non-pressurized basin insulators (hereinafter referred to as insulators), used in AC gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear (hereinafter referred to as switchgear) with a rated voltage of 72.5 kV and above and a rated frequency of 60 Hz and below. This standard specifies the definition of insulators, conditions of use, rated value, design and structure, type test, factory test, as well as marking, packaging, transportation, storage and other aspects of the general requirements. Insulators used in inflatable compartments of a.c. metal-enclosed switchgear with rated voltages of 3.6 kV to 40.5 kV and rated frequencies of 60 Hz and below, including pressurized and non-pressurized ones, are also included in the scope of this standard.
