Standard Applicability:This standard applies to measurement uncertainty assessment activities for the quantitative analysis of foodstuffs, as well as environmental samples used to monitor processed and stored foodstuffs, and to instrumental quantitative analytical methods that may be used as an alternative to routine colony counting methods for microorganisms. This standard does not apply to most probable value counting methods and methods for the analysis of low levels of microorganisms. Reference is also made to this standard for the assessment of measurement uncertainty in the quantitative analysis of animal feed products.
