Standard Applicability:This standard applies to the monitoring of the sulfonation value of in-use petroleum-based and hydrocarbon-based diesel engine crankcase oil and other engine oils with sulfur content greater than 500 μg/g. This standard does not apply to the monitoring of the sulfonation value of in-use oils of equipment using low-sulfur fuels.
