Standard Applicability:This document establishes procedures for the preparation of quality control charts for confirmatory spectrochemical analysis. Guidelines for taking corrective action are presented; control is achieved by instrumental response values to test verification samples, which may be performed in conjunction with the preparation of control charts. This document is specific to atomic emission spectrometry and may have conditional application to other analytical methods; it does not apply to the verification of calibration correctness, and the procedures described in this document do not apply to analyses requiring calibration for each set of data measured.
