Standard Applicability:This document specifies the polyester fiber water-blocking yarn for communication cable and optical cable (hereinafter referred to as water-blocking yarn) mechanical and physical properties, chemical properties, mildew-resistant properties, environmental performance, appearance, material and other technical requirements, describes the corresponding test methods and inspection rules, specifies the packaging, marking, transportation and storage and other aspects of the contents of the product, and at the same time, gives the product type and marking. This document applies to the design, manufacture, use and inspection of water-blocking yarns for communication cables, optical fiber cables and optoelectronic hybrid cables. Note: Aramid fiber water-blocking yarns and glass fiber water-blocking yarns, which are mainly used for reinforcing function and water-blocking function, are not included in this document, and their relevant requirements are stipulated in YD/T 1181.2 and YD/T 1181.4.
