Standard Applicability:This standard specifies the requirements and test methods for light curing machines used to irradiate and cure clinical polymer-based restorative materials in dentistry in the wavelength range of 385nm-515nm. This standard applies to quartz tungsten halogen lamps and light emitting diode (LED) lamps. The light curing machine may be powered from an internal power supply (rechargeable battery) or from a connected external power supply (grid power). This standard does not apply to laser or plasma arc equipment. This Standard does not apply to light-curing machines used in dental laboratories for indirect restorations, veneers, dentures and other oral products. The requirements of the relevant provisions of this standard take precedence over the requirements of GB 9706.1. This standard replaces YY 0055.1-2009 “dental – light curing machine Part 1: quartz tungsten halogen lamp”, YY 0055.2-2009 “dental – light curing machine Part 2: light-emitting diode (LED) lamp”.
