Standard Applicability:This standard specifies the design and test requirements for single-use enteral nutrition catheters, single-use enteral feeders and their connectors. No radiation detectability requirements for enteral nutrition catheters are given in this standard. NOTE: It is expected that enteral nutrition catheters inserted through the mouth or nose will be rendered radiodetectable by the entire body of the catheter, or by the head end, or by intermittent labeling. There is currently no universal test method for radiographic detectability. However, the development of such a standardized method is under consideration.
