Standard Applicability:This standard specifies the performance requirements and corresponding test methods for dental implant attachments made of titanium and titanium alloys, as well as the contents of packaging. Dental implant attachments in this standard refer to various ancillary components, including abutments, central screws or screws, used in combination with dental implants to support implant denture superstructures (restorations). Dental implant attachments for the purposes of this standard also include overlay nuts, healing caps, and healing abutments used on implants prior to the assembly of the superstructure. Devices used in the fabrication room to fabricate superstructures (e.g., transfers, retention screws or screws, catch collars, and superstructures) are not covered by this standard.
