Standard Applicability:This standard specifies the terms and definitions, naming and categorization, physical requirements, chemical requirements, biological requirements, packaging, marking, etc. of single-use sterile syringes (hereinafter referred to as syringes) with the characteristic of preventing re-use. This standard applies to single-use sterile syringes made of plastic materials, with or without needles, used for aspirating medicinal liquids or injecting immediately after aspirating liquids, and designed to prevent reuse, and also applies to prevent accidental needlestick injuries syringes with the property of preventing reuse, this standard does not relate to the performance of this type of syringes with the property of preventing accidental needlestick injuries. This standard does not apply to glass syringes, self-destructing fixed-dose vaccine syringes and syringes pre-filled with drug solution. The compatibility of syringes with injected pharmaceutical solutions is not addressed in this standard. This standard does not specify design requirements for self-destruct characteristics.
