Standard Applicability:This part of YY/T 0590 specifies a method for determining the quantum detection efficiency (DQE) of digital X-ray imaging equipment operating under the conditions of medical use specified by the manufacturer as a function of the specific kinetic energy of air and the spatial frequency. The intended users of this part are manufacturers and well-equipped test laboratories. This part applies to digital x-ray imaging equipment for mammography imaging such as, but not limited to: CR systems, direct or indirect flat panel detector based systems, scanning systems (CCD or photon counter based). This part does not apply to: –Digitized x-ray imaging equipment for general radiography or dental radiography; –CTs; –Devices used for dynamic imaging (for acquiring series of images, such as fluoroscopy or cardiac imaging). Note: The reason for not including the above devices is that they include many very important parameters different from mammography (e.g., beam quality, geometric position, time dependence, etc.). These technical parameters are described in other parts of the series of standards (YY/T 0590.1 and IEC 62220-1-3), just as other parameter items are described, such as the treatment of speed and contrast in the IEC and ISO standards.
