Standard Applicability:This standard gives the test medical mask anti-synthetic blood spatter penetration performance of laboratory test methods. This standard is mainly used for evaluating the performance of materials or certain structures used to make medical masks. This standard does not evaluate the design, structure, interface or other factors that can affect the overall protective capability of the medical mask (such as filtration efficiency and pressure drop). This test does not evaluate the breathability of medical facepieces or other properties that affect the respiratory comfort of medical facepieces. This test evaluates the protective properties of medical facepieces. This test does not evaluate the protective capability of medical facepieces against airborne transmission or penetration transmission of aerosols formed by body fluids deposited on the surface of medical facepieces.
