Standard Applicability:This standard specifies the technical requirements and test methods, marking, packaging and storage of thermoplastic polyurethane specialties (TPU) (hereinafter referred to as polyurethane specialties) for medical infusion, blood transfusion and injection devices. This standard only applies to single-component polyurethane specialties. This standard does not apply to co-mingled polyurethane specialties (such as polyurethane/polyvinyl chloride, polyurethane/polyformaldehyde, etc.) and polyurethane specialties with other components (such as developer, colorant, glass fiber, etc.).
