Standard Applicability:This standard specifies requirements for single-use human venous blood sampling needles with a nominal outside diameter of 0.5 mm to 0.9 mm at the venipuncture end of the needle barrel. This standard does not apply to the requirements for visible-recovery single-use human venous blood sampling needles, but manufacturers of visible-recovery single-use human venous blood sampling needles are encouraged to adopt the provisions of this standard.
