Standard Applicability:This standard specifies a test method for the static shear separation force of combined glenoid components in shoulder prostheses. The combined glenoid component shall consist of a separate glenoid liner and glenoid backing. The glenoid liner and glenoid backing may be made of any combination of the following materials: metal alloys, polymeric materials, and composites. This standard applies to the design verification of the product and comparison with other prostheses.
