Standard Applicability:This document specifies the basic safety and basic performance of laughing gas inhalation sedation and analgesia devices used in combination with accessories. This document applies to laughing gas inhalation sedation and analgesia devices and accessories (e.g. masks, breathing lines, etc.) used in combination. Such devices are intended to deliver a laughing gas-oxygen gas mixture to the patient’s respiratory system for sedation and analgesia, with an adjustable concentration of laughing gas-oxygen gas mixture. This document does not apply to anesthesia machines, laughing gas-oxygen premixed gas inhalation sedation and analgesia devices that use laughing gas for inhalation sedation and analgesia.
