Standard Applicability:This standard specifies the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) method for the determination of six phthalate esters in soil and sediment. This standard applies to the determination of six phthalate esters in soil and sediment, including dimethyl phthalate (DMP), diethyl phthalate (DEP), di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP), butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and di-n-octyl phthalate (DNOP). Other phthalates can also be determined by this method through validation. When the sample volume is 10.0 g, the extraction volume is 20.0 ml, and the injection volume is 1.0 μl, the limit of detection of this standard for the determination of phthalate esters is 0.02 mg/kg to 0.05 mg/kg, and the lower limit of determination is 0.08 mg/kg to 0.20 mg/kg.
